On any given Thursday, walk through the doors at Arvada Elks Lodge #2278 and you'll likely be greeted by a couple of regulars who wave you over like they've known you for years. That's not an accident. The 139 reviews averaging 4.7 stars don't come from a marketing campaign. They come from people who felt it the moment they walked in.

The lodge sits just outside downtown Arvada, which makes it a natural gathering point for the west metro. It has hosted annual car shows, fireman chili cook-offs, and fundraisers where community organizations borrow the building and the Elks show up to help. That pattern, a private club that consistently opens its doors for the broader community, is what separates Lodge #2278 from a bar with a membership card.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded on the idea that service and fellowship belong together. At this lodge, that's not a framed motto on the wall. It's the reason someone hands you a drink and pulls up a chair.

What We Offer

The lodge bar is the social core of the building, a place where members gather after work, after a car show, or after a long week with no particular occasion required. Events rotate through the calendar year, from themed cook-offs to outdoor gatherings, so there's usually something on the schedule worth showing up for.

Beyond the bar and events, Lodge #2278 offers its facilities for community fundraisers and local causes. The space has accommodated everything from fire department events to large group gatherings, and the Elks membership brings the kind of volunteer energy that makes those events actually run. If you're looking to get involved, the lodge sponsors charitable programs through the national Elks National Foundation, supporting veterans, youth, and local scholarship recipients throughout the Arvada area.

"Stopped in on a Thursday around 10 and were welcomed by 2 gentleman who said they were still open. Went to bar and was told they were closed but he reluctantly gave us one round. There were others having drinks but we were ignored when we tried to engage. This is the first Elks, of many, that made us feel unwelcome."

"Attended a fireman chili cook-off here. The Elks were gracious to volunteer this building for the fundraiser. The chilli was good and the location just by downtown Arvada is good for local events and fundraising."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
